SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- One of Salt Lake City's most popular retail neighborhoods may soon get a face lift.

City leaders plan to spend around 1-point-5 (M)million dollars to renovate the Ninth and Ninth district.

It's home to several businesses, restaurants and an art house movie theater.

Additions will include decorative medians, middle of the street parking, street art, rounded corners and lots of foliage.

City and business leaders say the improvements are slated to be completed by this fall.

Property owners can voice their opinions at a March 8th public hearing before the City Council.

If there are no large-scale protests, the city will go ahead with the renovation plans.
