SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Charges are expected to be filed today against the fire official accused of trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a minor.

54-year-old Dennis Steadman remains in the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of enticing a minor over the Internet. He's being held on 50-thousand dollar bail.

He was arrested on Wednesday during an undercover operation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Steadman is a battalion chief for the Unified Fire Authority. He's been put on administrative leave while the U-F-A conducts its internal investigation.

The agency said its "deeply concerned" by the events surrounding Steadman's arrest and is fully cooperating with the attorney general's office in its investigation.
