SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A 25-year-old construction worker is in the hospital this morning after an industrial accident at the Salt Palace.

The incident happened around six a.m.

Authorities say a plywood protector of a column fell on the worker. They say the metal column is about ten to 15 feet tall.

Officers say crews on site managed to get the plywood off the man. Crews then called authorities.

The man was taken to the L-D-S Hospital where he's believed to be in serious condition.

The construction site has been taped off, waiting for O-S-H-A to arrive.
