(KSL News) -- A 40-year old Orem man was shot and killed by police today, after officers say he shot at them.

Shots Fired as Police Investigate Bank Robbery Suspect

Police believe the man had robbed a bank in Pleasant Grove this afternoon, and tracked him down from his license plate.

When officers went to the home where the car was registered, they say the garage door came up and the suspect shot at them. Officers returned fire and the man was killed.

The officers involved have been place on routine leave, while an outside investigation determines if officers were justified in the shooting.
