Investigation Continues in Elder Abuse Case

(KSL News) -- Investigators are still trying to get to the bottom of what appears to be a disturbing case of elder abuse we told you about Friday night.

No charges have yet been filed, but the home is empty tonight while authorities investigate.

Firefighters found the woman earlier in the week when they responded to a report of a stroke. They found the 72-year-old woman in the basement of the home. She had open wounds and her was sitting in her own waste.

The Deseret Morning News reports that the wounds on her leg were so bad it had to be amputated. State officials also removed four children from the home.
