Keith McCord ReportingJot this down: May 19th, 2 pm. That's when you-- that's right you-- can walk away with the keys to Karl Malone's house! Yep, the mailman and his wife have decided to sell their giant home, and they're not using a realtor. Instead, their going to put it up for auction.

It's quite the place! Located in the upper Avenues overlooking Salt Lake City, this huge log, stone, and stucco home that the mailman built is now empty, but still spectacular.

Craig King, Pres. J.P. King Auction Co.: "But this is truly one of the finest homes that we have had the opportunity to take to market. Just over 17,000 square feet, eight bedrooms, 11 baths."

J.P. King Auction Company, based in Alabama, specializes in auctioning high-end properties like the Malone Mansion. And they've helped sell several homes in Utah in the past. This sale will be a BIG one…pun intended.

Craig King, Pres. J.P. King Auction Co.: “When you go into the great room, it has a 36 foot cathedral ceiling, tongue and groove pine, beautiful stone work.”

Big wooden beams, big fireplace, and a big kitchen. And wait until you see the bedroom! By the way, the 10 by 10- foot bed comes with the place if you are the highest bidder.

Craig King, Pres. J.P. King Auction Co.: "As you might expect things in this house are oversized -- giant bathtub, a very big shower, and how about the sink!"

The home will be sold in a method called an "Absolute Auction", meaning the house will sell to the highest bidder no matter what the price! But in order to participate in the auction, you'll first have to put down $150,000.

Craig King, Pres. J.P. King Auction Co.: "As far as how many bidders, we just don't know. It could be a half a dozen it could be a dozen, we'll have to just wait and see on that as well."

Two weeks before the auction, the home will open for tours for all qualified bidders. Then, at 2 p.m. May 19th, the eight bedrooms, 11 baths, five fireplaces, weight room, entertainment room, indoor basketball court, outdoor pool with 100-foot waterslide, swing set and incredible view will be sold.

Craig King, Pres. J.P. King Auction Co.: "There's no doubt. There will be a new owner on may 19th for Karl Malone's home."

The home also has an indoor shooting range, a guest house, steam room, and a six-car, extra-wide, heated garage.
