Sandra Yi ReportingJenaV Adams: "Please turn yourself in and do what's right by my son."
A mother makes that plea to the man accused of abusing her two-year old son. West Valley City Police have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect. He's been on the run from police, for a week.
Two-year old Dominic Adams is still in critical condition here at Primary Children's Medical Center. His family is hopeful; today he squeezed his mother's hand as she talked to him.
JenaV Adams has been by her son's bedside every day. He has a broken arm and bleeding in the brain. Dominic was brought to the hospital on Wednesday. His mother's boyfriend was watching him and said the boy fell in the tub.
But doctors said the injuries were inconsistent with the fall. Michael Barber hasn't been seen since that day, and Police have issued an arrest warrant for him. Today Dominic's mother pleaded for Barber to turn himself in. She's also asking for the public's help.
JenaV Adams, Victim's Mother: "I just would ask that even if you're out in your everyday travels, you look at who's next to you at a stop light or at a grocery store, because he's there somewhere. Someone needs to turn him in."
Last Monday Dominic was taken to the hospital with a broken arm. Barber told his family he fell off the couch and hit the fireplace. Now they suspect Barber had something to do with that injury as well.
The victim's family believes Barber is still in Utah, possibly in the West Valley City or Holladay areas. If you have any information on his whereabouts call West Valley City Police.
A fund has been set up for Dominic at any Wells Fargo Bank.
