CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- Southern Utah University students will soon have dig deeper in their pockets for tuition money.

The university has approved a tuition increase starting in the fall of 2005. The hike will mean students will pay one-hundred and 23-dollars more in tuition per semester.

In addition to the tuition hike, there will also be a 29-dollar increase in student fees.

The tuition increase will pay for a salary increase for faculty and staff, student financial aid, merchant discount fee and other new positions -- A cost of nearly $1.2 million.

This is the school's third consecutive tuition increase.
