Sam Penrod ReportingA big fire is lighting up the night sky in Utah County tonight. The fire is burning in a marshy area east of Utah Lake near the town of Vineyard.
This fire has been raging since about 5:00 this afternoon, and continues along the shores of Utah Lake.
Firefighters responded on report of smoke and flames burning in the marshes. No one yet knows how the fire started.
It is a difficult fire to access because of no road access. Also, there are no fire hydrants in the area so the only water supply is what is in the firetrucks.
Nothing is in danger right now so firefighters are taking a defensive position, hoping it will burn itself out. Authorities plan to fight it all night long.
