ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- A couple who watched two-thirds of their house drop into the Santa Clara river says Wells Fargo bank forgave their mortgage.
Jack and Lois Worlton owed Wells Fargo $105,000 for their mortgage -- and say they were surprised when the bank's St. George office decided to write off their losses.
The couple moved to Salt Lake City after the flooding, when Wells Fargo suspended their mortgage payments for 90 days as an initial gesture.
They say Wells Fargo set an example other mortgage lenders can follow, showing charity on victims of southern Utah flooding in January.
