SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- An Orem man was killed over the weekend when he fell off a rock ledge while hiking near Moab.
The fatal fall happened on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say 18-year-old Scott Berneau apparently slipped and fell about 35 feet while hiking north of the boat docks along the Colorado River.
Officers say Berneau had been hiking with friends.
Berneau apparently wanted to continue hiking but they didn't. His friends left him to hike by himself and planned to pick him up later.
Deputies say no foul play is suspected in the incident, which is under investigation.
