SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah Democrats have selected state Senator Gene Davis to replace as the new minority whip.
Davis replaces Senator Ron Allen, who stepped down last month to become one of three Public Service Commission members.
Davis served in the Legislature from 1987-1998 in the House of Representative, and joined the Senate in 1999. Outside the Senate, he works in public relations and advertising.
