(KSL News) Two seperate accidents create a mangled mess on I-80 near the I-215 interchange overnight.
State troopers say a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on I-80, when the driver fell asleep. The truck veered towards the median, and when the driver awoke she overcorrected.
The vehicle smashed into a freeway barrier, sending it right into westbound traffic.
Minutes later, a westbound car collided with debris and barrier from the previous accident.
UHP warns drivers to be more alert when driving.
Sgt. Guy Hood/ Utah HIghway Patrol: "Just use caution, slow down and look ahead to where you're driving. Some of these highways aren't lit up with freeway lighting, so you've got to look ahead to what could be in your path."
Although injuries were minor, both cars appear to be a complete loss.
