SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Salt Lake City elementary teacher has been killed in a rock climbing accident over the weekend.

31-year-old Grant Clark Brower died on Saturday while rock climbing with his 27-year-old sister, Anna, near Boulder Colorado.

Brower had been a bilingual, first-grade Spanish teacher at Rose Park Elementary School in Salt Lake City since last year.

He had also taught for a year in Costa Rica and learned Spanish. He also spent a summer in Ecuador as a Fulbright-Hays Scholar.

A funeral is scheduled on Saturday in the Salt Lake City 19th L-D-S Ward Chapel.
