SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The man found dead inside the trunk of a car over the weekend in Salt Lake City had been beaten to death.
Salt Lake City police spokesman Dwayne Baird said the man was struck multiple times with a weapon that police have yet to recover.
On Saturday, two men driving along Interstate 215 spotted a car teetering on the edge of Surplus Canal. Police found the victim in the car's trunk.
Baird said police have an idea of the victim's identity, but are waiting for the man's relatives to come to Utah from Mexico.
