PROVO, Utah (AP) -- An Alpine man convicted of 12 first degree-felony counts of sexually abusing and raping his daughter has been sentenced to prison.
Prosecutors say he likely will spend more than ten years in prison.
Thirty-six-year-old Blair Alan Devey was sentenced yesterday to five years to life on each of seven felony counts, and ten years to life on three other counts, all to be served consecutively.
Judge Samuel McVey also sentenced Devey to five years to life to be served concurrently on two felony object rape counts.
Devey was convicted of sexually abusing and raping the girl, now 15, between 1999 and 2004, when she told her mother of the abuse.
The actual time served will be up to the pardons board, but prosecutor Donna Kelly says Devey is not likely to have a parole hearing for about ten years, and he would not necessarily be released then.
