25-year-old Justin Severnak had outstanding felony warrants for several crimes, including drug dealing and robberies. Police received a tip he was inside a house in Murray, so they set up a perimeter.

They tried to negotiate with Severnak over the phone and over a P.A. system, but he wouldn't surrender. Eventually, officers and K-9s entered the house and found Severnak and a woman hiding in the attic. Both were arrested around 2:00 this morning.

The incident woke up neighbors, but most were grateful to have the protection.

Scott Miller/ Taylorsville Police Dept.: "We were approached by several neighbors who indicated this particular house had been a source of a lot of suspicious activity, they believe drug activity. They've been very supportive of us through this particular effort and expressed their pleasure that something's finally being done."
