(KSL News) -- Lightning struck a man this afternoon in West Valley City.

Gary Grant was instructing students at a truck driving school when he was hit by a bolt of lightning. At first Grant's students and fellow teaching instructors didn't know what had happened. They say Grant just suddenly started shaking and fell to the ground.

Rick Gurule, Road Mastery Driving School Instructor: "The students were running this way. First they were yelling someone had a heart attack, so I dialed 9-1-1 and started my way out to him."

When one of the instructors touched Grant he felt a jolt of electricity as well. Grant was carried inside out of the rain until emergency workers arrived. By that time he was talking and breathing and appeared to be okay.
