(KSL News) -- Utah's Democrats have a new chairman. At today's state convention, delagates elected Wayne Holland Junior to lead the party.

The 46-old Holland beat out eight opponents for the job. He was considered the front-runner going into the convention at the Salt Palace and was endorsed by most of the state's high profile party members.

Holland replaces outgoing state chairman Donald Dunn who did not seek another term.
