PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A man who survived shooting himself in the head after killing his boss pleaded guilty to murder Tuesday.
Louis Darrell Kinyon, 50, of American Fork, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated murder in return for having charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and aggravated assault dropped, court spokeswoman Nancy Volmer said. He is scheduled for sentencing May 19 in the death of Kent Neil Griffith, 36.
Police said Kinyon became enraged after a meeting Feb. 2, 2004, then returned with a gun to the Provo River Water Users Association and shot Griffith and then himself.
Kinyon survived and was ruled competent to stand trial.
