(KSL News) -- A one-year-old girl nearly drowned Tuesday night.
She slipped out of her parents' sight through the back door, and fell into a homemade backyard pond near 1172 Elgin Ave. in Salt Lake City.
Lt. Chris Bertram, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Dept.: "You need to keep an eye on these kids no matter what age they are it just takes a second and once they're in that water a lot of these smaller kids like this one year old can't get back out of the water."
After C-P-R, the child began breathing again. She was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in extremely critical condition.
