DENVER (AP)/KSL News-- Police in Denver have issued an Amber Alert. And police in Utah are on the lookout.

Four-year-old Diana Gabriella Sanchez was abducted Monday from the alley behind her home in Denver. She was playing with other children about 6:30 p.m. when a man in an older, red Ford Ranger or Bronco drove up, grabbed her, put her in the vehicle and drove off, police said.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the other children weren't harmed. Diana's mother was home at the time of the abduction.

"This appears to be a stranger situation where basically this male... got out of his vehicle while the children were playing, specifically grabbed the young lady, the little girl, and took off with her," police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

Police issued an Amber Alert for Diana, who is described as Hispanic, with straight brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. She was wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and red shoes.

The suspect is a white man with blue eyes, shoulder-length brown hair and a mustache. He was wearing a gray long-sleeved T-shirt, blue jeans with knees ripped out and brown shoes.

Police were conducting interviews, passing out fliers and searching neighborhoods with helicopters late Monday. Authorities also were using a reverse-911 call system to alert residents in a nine-block radius.
