Alex Cabrero ReportingBy now you've probably heard, Star Wars III opens in movie theaters tonight. Hundreds of people are waiting in lines outside; just about every theater showing the movie. Some fans have been waiting in line for days.

If you want to see House of Wax, Hitch, or Kingdom of Heaven, tonight is probably the best night because everyone else will be watching Star Wars. As we mentioned, some fans have been here for days, which makes a lot of people wonder, why?

What would make an adult in their 30's or 40's want to wait outside just to be first to see a movie that will play hundreds of times?

Dr. Liz McGill, Psychologist, Valley Mental Health: "These people were brought up with it and it’s their childhood, it's their early adulthood, and this is the final episode."

Dr. Liz McGill is a psychologist with Valley Mental Health. You won't see her waiting in line, but you’ll never hear her bashing those who do.

Dr. McGill: “I think movies, novels, there’s certainly ways for us to get a mini-vacation.”

And with war, terrorism, and all the other bad things going on in real life, there's nothing wrong with wanting to go to a galaxy far, far away, even if only for a couple of hours.

This movie is such an event, businesses have rented theaters so employees or guests can see it without having to wait in line. You might even have been lucky enough to win tickets; our own KSL NewsRadio 1160 gave out some 750 tickets at Orem’s SCERA Theater, so fans who didn't get them before they were sold out had a chance to get some. Of course, there's always tomorrow.
