AMERICAN FORK, Utah (AP) -- The American Fork Boat Harbor will remain closed through the Memorial Day weekend and possibly for up to a month.

That is because of the high water table that led to erosion and a large sinkhole in the marina road.

The road has been closed since the sinkhole swallowed an S-U-V pulling a boat leaving Utah Lake on Sunday.

Harbor master Cal Houghton says the road could be repaired quickly, but officials don't want to have to keep repairing while the water level remains high.

He says it won't be fixed until the water goes down.
