SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- If you're a Salt Lake Stingers fan -- you could go to a game for free.
The baseball team announced they plan to give out 100,000 free tickets to the upcoming eight-game homestand, which begins Tuesday and runs through June 7th.
Team representative Dennis Haslam said he believes the promotion is the first of its kind in professional sports. Haslam said the team wants to spark a little summer excitement.
After averaging crowds of almost 100-thousand the first season, attendance has declined substantially. Meanwhile, nationwide minor-league attendance figures are at record highs.
Beginning this Saturday at 8:00 a.m., fans must register at http://www.Stingersbaseball.com or call the team's ticket office at 801-325-2273.
