Amanda Butterfield reportingWhat seemed like a normal order for chicken turned out to be an armed robbery caught on tape.

A South Salt Lake KFC became a crime scene overnight. An armed man robbed the restaurant, then took off with cash, and he's still missing this morning.

Sgt. Mikal Wersland/South Salt Lake PD: "We're very intent on finding him. With the investigation follow up that we'll do, and with the great surveillance video that we got, we feel confident that we'll be able to apprehend the suspect."

The entire crime was caught on a suveillance video. A man walks into the KFC in South Salt Lake last night, around nine o'clock. He approaches a clerk, and everything seemed normal. It even appears the clerk is taking his order.

But then the robber pulls a gun out from under his shirt and demands money. The clerk says even though the robber was threatening him, the robber was very quiet and calm the whole time.

Sgt. Mikal Wersland/South Salt Lake PD: "He seemed very calm while he was doing it. It was very low key. There were other customers inside the store. And he got away without any incident."

Police think because the robber was so calm, it's likely he's done this before.

The clerk gathers some cash, puts it in a bag, hands it to the robber and the robber takes off. No one was hurt and no shots were fired.

Police say the suspect was last seen running northeast from the KFC.

Police are asking for your help. If you've seen him or have any information that would help in the investigation, please call South Salt Lake police at 840-4000.
