SYRACUSE, Utah (AP) -- An 18-month-old Syracuse boy has died of complications from nearly drowning when he fell into a waterfall duck pond on May eighth.

Police said Luke Jason Strickland returned home from Primary Children's Medical Center a week ago and died Saturday at home with his family.

The toddler had followed some ducks to the pond across the street from his house on May eighth. The neighbors have three cascading waterfalls.

A neighbor found the toddler face down in the bottom pond and administered C-P-R.

Police and paramedics arrived and were able to get the child's heart beating, but there were complications from the lack of oxygen to his brain.
