SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The second volume of an L-D-S comic book has been released.
Comic book artist and L-D-S Church member Mike Allred released the comic book titled "The Liahona and the Promised Land" last week.
Allred released the first volume in late October. Sales from the first volume called "The Golden Plates" is already in its third printing.
The first volume covers the first 14 chapters of the Book of Mormon. The second volume picks up the story in one Nephi 15.
Dave Landa, owner of Doctor Volts Comic Connection in Salt Lake City, said the series has done very well.
Landa has sold two-hundred copies of the first issue. That's five times his initial order for his store, where the best sellers are usually the Ultimate Spider-Man and Superman-Batman books.
The books sells for seven-dollars and 99-cents, about four-dollars more than the average comic book.
Volume three could be released by September
