(KSL News) -- Questar Gas customers may soon notice higher gas bills. The Utility company is seeking a rate hike that would cost customers about 11-dollars a month.
If the Public Service Commission approves the 14.4-percent increase it will become effective tomorrow. It would be Questar's third largest percentage increase in two decades.
Meantime, Utah Power customers shouldn't expect lower electricity bills anytime soon. MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company has reached an agreement to buy Pacificorp, the parent company of Utah Power. Some speculated the deal would bring lower electricity bills, as previous mergers have done, but in fact, customers will likely be paying more.
