OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Money collected as evidence in drug cases over the last 15 years will be given to the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force.
The nearly 19 thousand dollars collected in small busts in Weber and Morgan counties over the year has gone unclaimed, while drawing interest in a bank. The interest amounts to nearly 19-thousand dollars for a total of nearly 38 thousand dollars.
Weber County Attorney Reed Richards told the County Commission yesterday that the people involved in the cases said it was not their money and that they knew nothing about it. He said they didn't want to be tied to it.
