(KSL News) A one-year-old baby girl is alive this morning thanks to the quick thinking of her parents.

A Bountiful mother was giving her baby a bath last night, when she left the bathroom. She was only gone about 30 seconds, but when she came back she found her baby face down in four inches of water.

The baby was in critical condition, but fortunatly her parents knew CPR. Fire authorities say that saved their baby.

They also say the near drowning should remind everyone it takes only seconds for a baby to slip into water.

Jason Smith/South Davis Metro Fire Agency: "Just for a moment, which goes to show you can't leave your babies away in the bathtubs by themselves for very long."

The baby was flown to Primary Children's Hospital and is expected to be okay.
