(KSL News) -- Human remains were found at the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
The Tabernacle is in the middle of renovations, and construction workers discovered a cement vault that had Native American bones inside.

The bones were originally found in the 1960's, when the tabernacle was excavated. Back then, the remains were returned to the vault, under the direction of a Native American spiritual leader.
State Archeologists Keven Jones, says the discovery isn't a big surprise.
Kevin Jones/State Archeologist: "Any place in salt lake during a construction project there is always a possibility of running into an archeology site and it wouldn't surprise me if there is, or there might still be, sites up at Temple Square."
The remains were not damaged and will stay buried in the vault.
