SANTAQUIN, Utah (AP) -- Police are investigating the discovery of possible human remains found near Santaquin.
The Utah County Sheriff's Office received a tip yesterday about the possible remains near the Santaquin city limits. Authorities say witnesses told them a dog found a foot on the east bench.
The Sheriff's Office has released little details about the discovery, saying the remains may be part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
Officials said they believe the remains are no more than 60 days old.
The remains are now at the Medical Examiner's Office. Authorities hope to have it identified today.
