SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) -- Mascots and colors have been chosen for two schools that will soon be built in Salem and Mapleton.
The Nebo School Board made the decisions last night after six months of weeding through dozens of choices.
Salem Hills High School students will cheer on their Skyhawks in navy blue, Columbia blue and gold uniforms. Maple Mountain students will root for their Golden Eagles, donned in maroon, gold and forest green.
School District official Bob Wadley said the reason the mascots and colors were chosen so early is so they can be incorporated into the design of the new buildings.
Salem Hills is scheduled to open in fall 2008, while Maple Mountain is set to open the following fall.
