SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Gov. Jon Huntsman is scheduled to visit Mexico next month during his first trip out of the country as governor.
Huntsman plans to meet with Vicente Fox and invite the Mexican president to visit Utah in September.
"It will be a quick visit, but I'm delighted that we heard yesterday from the Mexican government that President Fox has confirmed the meeting," Huntsman said Friday.
Huntsman had hoped to sit down with Fox during the Western Governors' Association meeting this month in Colorado, but Fox had to cancel his visit.
Huntsman's trip, which he said will focus on economic development, is scheduled for July 11-15. Huntsman is scheduled to meet with Fox on July 13 and also plans to meet with several other Mexican officials, including the secretary of the economy and the minister of travel and tourism.
