(KSL News) A Murray policeman will not face charges for shooting an armed man.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office decided not to prosecute officer Tom Martin, saying Martin used reasonable force and was justified in shooting 42-year-old Daniel Shipley.
It happened last April at an apartment building.
Authorities say Shipley came out with a gun in his hand and pointed it at officers. The DA's office says Martin fired six rounds at Shipley. Then Shipley shot and killed himself.
