(KSL News) -- Firefighters today made progress on the fires burning in southwestern Utah.

Five fires burning just north of St. George have burned over 10-thousand acres. Crews now have the Jarvis Peak and the Plateau fires contained.

The Diamond Valley and Wide Canyon fires are still growing., but are no longer threatening homes or property.

The Cottonwood Creek and Harrisburg fires are holding steady.

The 12-thousand acre Blue Springs fire is now 70- percent contained.

And the Duzac Fire, which started in Nevada crossed the border into Utah today and is burning about 35-miles northwest of St. George.
