(KSL News) A man and woman ask to test drive a car in Wyoming, and show up at least 24 hours later in Salt Lake County.
Lt. Teri Sommers/Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "The driver and the passenger in that vehicle are both saying that they took the car for a test drive up in Wyoming and had failed to return it."
The couple's "failing to return" the car will likely land them both in jail for stealing the car.
Officers in Salt Lake County noticed the driver speeding through a neighborhood late last night, and followed him. After a short chase, the driver lost control and crashed, high-centering the car on a bunch of rocks.
At that point, the driver and his female passenger surrendered. Police say the driver has a criminal history.
