SANTAQUIN, Utah (AP) -- The new Santaquin Veterans Memorial lists the name of every veteran buried in the city's cemetery and it thanks those serving in the military today.

The memorial at the west end of the cemetery was dedicated yesterday.

American Legion Post 84 decided several years ago that the city needed a veterans memorial, and post commander Ted Jones found willing volunteers in Neva and Jim Peterson. They began fund raising and ended up being the catalyst for the project.

Jim Peterson says it was amazing to go talk to people, and they hand him a check for 500 dollars.
