SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A West Valley City man accused of a backyard killing of another man has been charged.

Twenty-four-year-old Sione Maafu Kauvaka has been charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly killed 23-year-old Lopeti "Robert" Keiaho.

Kauvaka allegedly admitted to police he went to a Salt Lake City home on Saturday, walked up to a group of people in the backyard and fired about ten shots.

Court records show two shots hit Keiaho, killing him. Also, 40-year-old Simione Ikahihifo was shot and wounded.

Kauvaka also faces second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree purchase, possession or use of a firearm by a restricted person.
