SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two 17-year-old girls were injured after their school bus rear-ended a pickup truck and hit an S-U-V head-on.
The accident happened yesterday afternoon on Interstate 15 near 30th South. Authorities say the bus was carrying 20 teenagers and two adults.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Derek Jensen says the school bus was southbound when it rear-ended the pickup. He says the truck then hit the back corner of an S-U-V, which then spun around and the bus hit it head-on.
The two teen girls were taken to the hospital and the driver of the bus suffered minor scrapes.
The cause of the crash in under investigation.
