CHICAGO (AFX) - Media company Tribune Co. said late Friday it will withdraw its common stock listing from the NYSE Arca in an effort to eliminate costs and duplicative requirements.

The exchange, formerly the Pacific Stock Exchange, was bought by the New York Stock Exchange earlier this year. The company's stock will continue to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Shares of Tribune fell 61 cents to close at $30.78 on the NYSE, and added 9 cents in aftermarket activity to $30.87. Copyright 2006 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be
