(KSL News) It's never too early to start thinking about what to get those hard to shop for people on your holiday list. And for the person that has everything why not give them a nun?
Rosanne James, Adopts a Nun: "Can't have enough Nunsi. Give them for birthday presents, Christmas presents. It's better than a scarf."
The Adopt a Nun program started when the Salesian Sisters needed to raise money to care for their aging nuns.
People pay a small fee and receive the prayers, support and friendship from a specific sister.
Mary Judith Gambetta, Adopts a Nun: "Absolutely. I believe in the power of prayer. I believe that's why we have two healthy, strong, intelligent little boys."
Sister Danielle, St. John Bosco: "A great sense of family relationship. It's a two-sided spiritual relationship. I know that they're praying for me as well, and it's just so beautiful."
The program is three thousand members strong, and organizers say people from all different religions have adopted a nun.
