BALTIMORE, Dec 22, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Baltimore prosecutors charged a woman with impersonating a lawyer to enter a city jail and have sexual intercourse with a prisoner.
Prosecutors allege Tiffany Weaver entered the jail Nov. 13 claiming to be an attorney with an Annapolis, Md., the Baltimore Examiner reported Friday.
Weaver presented jail officers with a fake Maryland State Bar Association Security Identification Pass that had her picture attached and gave jail officials a business card with the attorney's name, charging documents filed by prosecutors allege.
Once alone with the prisoner, Weaver allegedly began engaging in sexual intercourse with him before being noticed by jail officials.
The attorney told the Examiner she learned of the identity theft when her law firm was informed that she had been banned from the jail.
"I was out on maternity leave," she said. "They informed me they received a letter saying I had been caught having sex with an inmate -- which was a real laugh."
Weaver was charged with false use of government identification, fraud, displaying another's government ID, issuing fake documents and forgery.
