SALT LAKE CITY -- Children as young as 2 years old are spending more time in the "digital sandbox." Computer use among kids is quickly growing.
From games with Dora to watching videos of the Backyardigans, kids are online more than ever. The number of kids using the computer has gone up 63 percent in five years.
Anne Collier, the co-director of Utah-based connectsafely.org, is not surprised or worried. "They need to play in a lot of ways and a lot of places," she said.
Collier says it's all about finding balance. "Computers, the Web and virtual worlds are going to be part of their lives," she said.
She says make it guided play on good websites, and to talk to your kids about it.
