SALT LAKE CITY -- The White House officially submitted Gov. Jon Huntsman's name to the Senate for confirmation as ambassador to China Monday.

President Barack Obama asked Huntsman to be ambassador in May, and the governor accepted.

Since then, Huntsman has kept a pretty low profile in Utah as he prepares for this new assignment.
