KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- David Heck and Ryan Toolson scored 20 points each in leading Utah Valley State to a 91-79 nonconference victory Tuesday night over Missouri-Kansas City.
The Wolverines (5-3) shot 74 percent from the floor, connecting on 11-of-19 3-pointers in scoring their season high.
Utah Valley State led 44-29 at halftime. The Kangaroos (3-6) rallied to cut the margin to six, 57-51, with 12:56 left in the game on a 3-pointer by Quinton Day, who led UMKC with 24 points.
The Wolverines responded with a 10-5 run in the next 3:31 to stretch the lead back to double digits. Utah Valley's biggest margin was 87-70 with 1:42 remaining.
Richard Troyer finished with 12 points and Joe Walker had 10 for the Wolverines.
