Sandra Yi ReportingTwo men are in the hospital after a construction accident in Eagle Mountain. They were working on a new home when it happened.

The men were working on a new home when some trusses collapsed and all came down like dominoes.

A stop work order was posted after the accident happened just before 2:00 this afternoon in the Ranches area of Eagle Mountain.

A 24-year-old man who was up on the roof fell about a story and a half, he had a bad cut on his hand.

Some of the wood hit his father who was working on the ground, who suffered a cut to his head.

Witnesses say that both men were conscious and talking when the ambulances arrived before they were taken to the hospital.

Jens Helquist who works for a different company who was operating the crane today was surprised that the injuries weren't worse. He described what he saw.

Jens Helquist, crane operator: The guy that was up on top grabbed hold of the load, held onto it for a second and he lost his grip on there I guess when it went down on top of everything else."

Sgt. Jason Randall, Utah County Sheriff's Office: The Eagle Mountain Building Inspector has been out here, he has closed the site down so that no more construction can happen until we can try to determine a cause and try to make sure it doesn't happen again."

What caused the trusses to shift today is under investigation. An investigator for OSHA is trying to figure that out.

This is an area where a lot of new homes are going up. A sergeant with the Utah County Sheriff's Office has said that in the last eight to nine months the city has ordered more than a thousand permits, and he says that considering the number of homes that are going up there, there have been very few accidents.

The victims in this case work for J.C. Martinez Carpentry out of Salt Lake City. They are expected to be okay.
