(KSL News) -- About 40 Utah National guard returned home to the hugs of family and friends today.
The soldiers arrived in three waves at the Salt Lake International airport and then they were bused to the air base to be reunited with loved ones.
While in Iraq they trained coalition forces about detecting improvised explosive devices and mines.
Spc. Justin Hopkinson: "Wonderful, missed my kids and they missed me and it's wonderful to be back."
Members of the 115th Engineer Battalion based in Draper have been gone since October 2005.
