ELKHART, Ind., Nov 22, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Indiana authorities Wednesday charged an Elkhart, Ind., woman with four counts of murder in the strangulation deaths of her children.
Angelica Alvarez could face the death penalty if convicted of killing the children last week in the family's home for reasons that remained unclear.
Funerals were held Tuesday for the children, ages 8, 6, 4 and 2, the Elkhart Truth reported.
Alvarez had been in police custody at an area hospital since the deaths were discovered and was transferred to jail, the Elkhart County Prosecutor's office said in a news release.
